Abstract

Lattice-Gas Cellular Automata and Lattice-Boltzmann Equations

In this talk, we will be discussing the dynamics and analysis of Lattice-Gas Cellular Automata (LGCA) models. LGCA are spatial models that allow us to analyse the behavior and interactions of cell populations. Using the Discrete Fourier  transform we can derive the Boltzmann Propagator which in examining can give us conditions for pattern formation. We will examine a random motion model and an adhesive model. With both of these models we will discuss whether pattern formation is possible and show simulations of our findings. We will also discuss and provide a more complicated model that involves internal oscillators.
